For The Food Box, cuisine should be artisanal, an experience. Something to remember. When we launched our first food emporium in Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal, we sought to bring cuisines from around the world into one space, to bring people of different cultural interests together through food. Additionally, we bridge the gap between food stalls at a market and restaurant, for food lovers to gather and enjoy the best of both worlds in an upscale, socially conscious and eco-friendly manner. Instead of patrons visiting individual restaurants with varied menu options, at The Food Box, they are treated to “pods”, the cross between a food market stall, an eatery, and a “forever” pop-up restaurant food experience.

Having seen success in the Durban market, a new food emporium in Johannesburg is the latest extension of The Food Box. Holding fast to the virtues of the Durban site, Johanenbsurg is equally designed to favor environmental consideration, family fun, and Instagram chic.
